Seems I have landed another new gadget for my collection.  I love my music so a new gadget was needed when I could use up some airmiles I had accumulated.

Here is the one I picked up only in Silver:

First of all thanks to everyone who dropped by and either left a comment or emailed me privately to wish me a Happy Birthday.  It was a busy week and one we will talk about shortly.

Last week after my post on Monday I opened my email inbox to find yet another death of a dancer from my group.  That makes 5 in 4 months.  I am getting kind of concerned but then again I have to remind myself the average age group that i call for is 48-87 so I could be spending allot of time in the funeral parlors doing visitation.

Of course the previous Friday we had been to see Larry the Cable Guy what an amazing show he put on and clean as can be which I think shocked allot of people in the audience.  I would pay to see him again any day.

Wednesday was my birthday which I celebrated kind of quietly.  I went to lunch with my best friend Nikki, her mother in law, Mum and a friend of mine from school.  We had some great laughs and some good food and as always it was nice to get together.  Mum informed me at lunch time that my birthday gift that I ordered had arrived in the mail.  I was excited to get home and look at the new purchase.  I had been wanting to purchase myself a new camera and I did.  In turn my parents were reimbursing me for the purchase as a gift to me.  I have been going snap happy with it ever since and what a nice purchase.  This will last me for quite some time I am sure.

Thursday evening was spent with an unplanned night off and gave me time to get ready for a workshop I was presenting on Sunday in Petitcodiac on square dancing.  That did not leave me any time to get ready for the toast to the bride of a good friend that was getting married on Saturday.  Francene and I have been friends for about 7 years now meeting in an MSN chat room that year.  We have become great friends and when she asked me to be the MC to her wedding I was honoured.  I was even more honoured to give the toast to the bride.  I will admit the softer side of me that I rarely let show had a few tears when I seen Francene being walked down the aisle by her son Jordan.  It was a beautiful wedding and I think this will be a long lasting union of two people. The toast I gave I think brought some emotion to those in the crowd and some to both Francene and I. 

Saturday night after the wedding some of my friends were really looking to celebrate my birthday so Saturday night.  We partied hard or they did at least in my honour.  I got some really good laughs in and the new camera worked great cause it caught all the shots that I wanted and some that the rest didn't I think of.  We had a great time.  I had meetings in Petitcodiac all day Sunday so I really could not party as hard as some of them wanted.  I was feeling better then they were and that is fine by me.  I can't handle the hard stuff that comes with a full night of drinking any more.  Must be the age thing I guess.

Today Mum was back to Chemotherapy again and with her new treatment.  It was a very long day there today.  She started out with blood work at 7 am and we left the hospital at 4 pm.  She was tired and water logged by all means and now has the rest of the week to relax and get caught up on rest before she goes again next week for her treatment.  This new treatment is a combination of 3 different drugs and will work a little faster the doctors are hoping.  We have our fingers crosses as well that this is the last change in the routine.

All in all pretty much a busy time for me.  I am down the cold right now and that of course does not help me much or the possibility of Mum as well getting it back again.  I am trying to keep it to myself.  Let us hope so!

If everything goes well this coming weekend and I am feeling better I will be off to Moncton for the weekend to have yet another birthday bash with another group of friends and it will be a party I am sure.  If I am still sick by then this boy will not be going to Moncton to party.  Oh well we take it one day at a time.

To Me !

Well here I am with probably a short but long overdue post.  It has been a long winter that has not seemed to end by any means.  We have still had snow falling this past weekend and even again last night a little bit.  At least the snow banks are starting to decrease. 

Life with me is busy as usual.  Dance classes have been full force as of late I just completed a stretch of 3 weeks of 5 nights straight of dancing and classes.  Needless to say I am due for a break of sorts but that will happen sometime in may when things slwo down a little bit.  I am on a 6 day week of dancing, weddings and meetings.  I will be ready to pull what little bit of hair out of my head by the time the week is done I am sure.  Oh well what more can we do right ?

Mum has been under going the battle with a cold.  She is still battling it and finally I think is on the crest of it being over with.  She has been down to see the Radiation Dr about some treatments which will commence sometime along the course.  Her Chemo regime has changed as of this morning and next week she will be starting something new and we will see how that goes.  None the less she is keeping very positive and strong and that helps the battle wonderfully.

So as you can see not much new with me but that is all right life is good none the less!

The new Tonka Truck arrived this week and is in my mother's possession.  She has had her struggles before getting her new truck and now that it has arrived she is trying to get used to it.  It sure is purrty ;)

Have you heard of this Earth Hour everyone is raving about ?  Google it.  See how many results come up 5, 540,000 sites in 0.12 seconds.  Even http://www.google.ca has turned off the lights on their front page in honour of this new trend we see happening.  I too will participate in this in a round about way.  At home the lights will be out and power down to nil.  I wish I could say the same for the hall in which I will be hosting a square dance in tonight will be doing the same.  Unfortunately that will make our jobs much harder virtually impossible actually but none the less a very strong movement and one that is catching on it seems.

Another week has flown by yet again and Mother Nature must be slowly weeding through her tree mail or something cause the weather has finally taken a small dive to being better for all and yes she still throws some snow at us and that four letter word we hate but she is getting better.  Hopefully within another week or so we will see these huge mounds of snow start to disappear.  One thing is for sure we will be having some flooding this year to what extent we are never sure but I am thinking we will see some records being challenged.

This week has been somewhat quiet.  Dance classes all week long including tonight.  Last night I had the night off in preperation for tonight's dance.  I hit the local home show to see who was showing off their new wares.  A new theme in home renovations and building seems to be leaning towards hot tubs.  If there was one there at the show there was 20 (23 to be exact)  They are nice if you have the right area for it but too pricey for my liking.  When I win the lottery.  Last night Floobie and her friend Leata joined my friend Nikki and Kelly out to the bars.  I think Floobie was in culture shock she is never out at the bars and she was drinking her drinks down like a pro.  We will have to get her out again sometime soon!

Not much other news to report.  Mum has been feeling pretty good since her last treatment. She is still battling a bit of the cold and I think is on the way out with it.  Her new truck she had ordered is in and picks it up on Monday.  I will have to remember to take my camera and get some snaps of that as well.
